This week we will take the ACT English practice test. This is an important opportunity to both hone your own test taking skills and provide the school with critical data to further serve you as we approach the testing date this year. On the 6th and 7th we will deliver our Memoirs presentations. Come ready to take notes and discuss connections between Neruda's life and his writing. Students will begin and exploration of the author's life with a small group to further our knowledge of the influences that may shape his writing. Neruda is a South American poet who explores love, beauty and injustice in the world around us through his poetry. Our primary focus throughout the unit will be to refine our ability to critically analyze poetry and develop an appreciation of how an author's historical and cultural context shape their writing.
