Students will begin and exploration of the author's life with a small group to further our knowledge of the influences that may shape his writing. Neruda is a South American poet who explores love, beauty and injustice in the world around us through his poetry. Our primary focus throughout the unit will be to refine our ability to critically analyze poetry and develop an appreciation of how an author's historical and cultural context shape their writing.
